Indeed. I drank a really rather large qualtity of red wine flying back from Tokyo a few weeks ago and guess what… It didn’t make me want to try open the emergency exits, or threaten to kill anyone, or do anything else even vaguely like that, just the same as it doesn’t make the vast majority of people who fly want to do such things. To say let’s ban alcohol completely demonstrates a spectacular ignorance of what the problem actually is, and that problem amounts to the fact that a minority of people in this world will do stupid things regardless of what you do. Banning alcohol from airports and aircraft will do nothing whatsoever to change that. Weed out these low life scum, keep them away from airports and aircraft and you start to solve the problem. Ban something that people wrongfully perceive to be the cause and you’ll fail spectacularly to do anything except make the vast and entirely innocent majority suffer.
