Any figures that indicate a reduction in the number of lives lost must be good. Perhaps as more carriers are flying younger fleets the risk of accidents due to aged aircraft has reduced (of course accidents may still happen regardless).

The last accidents I have in mind did have no connection to the age of the aircraft.
