Why?

They already are in desert!

That seems to be where most of the Airlines park their surplus aircraft these days …where the humidity is only around eight percent…the aircraft are fully maintained and the windows are all sealed and the engines are drained and filled with pickling oil to preseve the seals …rather than have them taking up room at already overcrowded airports
