Why should you have “luck” when flying ? Would it be something like “Hey, I’m flying on a lucky plane, so I probably won’t crash” or “That plane is lucky, I sure can gamble in it and win a lot” ?

Sorry, but a plane is a big, high tech machine, bought by large companies. If the ones deciding what to buy base themselves on luck, there is a SERIOUS problem.

As for the passengers, except the fact that they couldn’t care less what the plane is, in most democratic coutries, they’ll fly whatever suits their travel needs for the lesser cost, and in other countries, they most likely won’t have the chance to travel anyway, and if they do, I don’t think they’ll have much of a choice as for the airline or plane either.
And the odd passenger who would rather fly in a plane that has an 8 in its designation, sorry, but he shouldn’t even travel anyway.
