Its in the northern Indian state of Punjab, lots of people in Birmingham are from Amritsar and people from here are pretty well of. Amritsar airport is still a hut Gaurav. The only thing that has happened is that traffic towards the middle east has increased from Amritsar. Saudi occasionaly operates to Amristar and IC and AI have direct flights from there. The latest FlyJet that plans a charter flight from Birmingham to Amristar is taking a very stupid step imo.
