Also more than happy to answer questions about the status of the Society. You’ll find that the website provides quite a lot of information. We’ve financially supported the Secret Spitfires documentary film and this year we will provide grants to students at the University of Southampton. We are also hoping to bring on board a number of patrons as Vice-Presidents.

There are a number of pages regarding events, museums and sites where you can view Spitfire related content. The member’s area includes copies of virtually all periodicals since the Society formed and we’re in the process of cataloguing and digitising the archive and library collections. The ‘Aksel’ Spitfire replica at Beale Park is receiving regular maintenance and we’re planning to improve its condition and interpretation.

In summary the Society is improving and more people are joining who wish to support our aims of promoting the aircraft and the people connected with it.
