Thanks very much for your help. All this time I had assessed that it was mounted along the aircraft’s longitudinal axis, never thinking it might be on the horizontal. Hopefully the part will go on display at the Tangmere Museum in due course now that it has been positively identified. A fitting final resting place for it.
