Finally it appears that one ‘outfit’ has actually read the revised 403. Some absolute rubbish being banded around by some seasonal display pilots who should know better. The notion that the Shoreham crash was a ‘freak accident’, by a current display pilot, smacks of the arrogance that plainly contributed to the tragedy in the first place.
As clearly stated in one of the CAA’s first responses the priority at any event is the safety of third parties. Mr O’Brien’s statement (5 live last week)that the changes “wouldn’t have made any difference” at Shoreham is downright wrong.
