Wish I’d had more time for the museum! It’s my kind of place; very hands-on and great to see aircraft being worked-on rather than this going on behind ‘closed doors’ and an apparently pristine aircraft appearing on display (behind barriers).

Spent most of my time looking at the Sea Harrier. What a mess for such a historic aircraft to be in…..then I realised, from a photograph, what the restoration team had been dealing with as a starting point! Well done guys!

The Jaguar too was very interesting. I could have spent an hour looking at the wing ‘displayed’ standing upright like that; why aren’t a few jets presented in museums like that? I like to see the way they’re built.

Free entry on the airshow day(s) was a brilliant initiative; I probably wouldn’t have paid to enter after 17:00 on the day but if I’m ever in the area and have enough time I’ll be back for a proper look (and a few second-hand books)!

Drove right past the Museum of Army Flying at Middle Wallop on the way out too; pinged that into the sat-nav for future reference as well.
