B-26 Invader Folks:
Good day fm across the pond!
Among the many B-26 Invader Bay of Pigs stories, is the b/w pic below shown as FAR 933, a solid nose model. C. Apr ’61 at Miami Apt. For many years we believed that this particular sample was the wrong aircraft. Well maybe,… but with the wrong FAR Reg#. According to new accounts of a FAR Chilean pilot (Advisor), there was one lonely solid nose sample at Santiago de Cuba area, a spare parts a/c who somehow was made airworthy during the conflict which later crashed on take -off at the hands of a young Cuban pilot. It was indicated to have been B-26B FAR 937. New details as they emerge later. 2 B Cont…Photo via AEC.
