An agreement/contract does not have to be written a verbal contract is legally enforceable the biggest problem is finding evidence to support that an agreement had been made. In this case I would have thought large numbers of people were aware of the agreement even if it was verbal.

How can a council destroy what is an excellent local attraction, you would have thought they would want people to come to visit.
I wonder if this “demand” is actually a legal move to ensure that a new lease is not created by continuous occupation.

I wonder if the council will be able to legally destroy the exhibits. The laws on trespass can be complicated and have certainly changed since I looked at them some considerable time ago.
Definitely a case for national media coverage, although I am sure they will already have this in hand.
