KRAFFSCHICK ME 109 CRASH SITE – SQUIRRELS WOOD STOCKBURY

Spencer…..I have updated information that you may need !!……… eicrthomas@aol.com

I’m researching some local WW2 crashsites and came across a picture of a crash in Stockbury Kent. I was wondering if anyone has any info on whereabouts it came down, I know its in Squirrels Wood somewhere but its a big place. On the Aircrew rememberance site they give a Cassini ref but it doesn’t tie up with my wartime maps.

I tried Lashenden Airwarfare Museum, but found nothing pertaining to this incident but got info about the 110 that crashed in Borden that I was chasing.
I know bits of Krafttshick’s plane are in Tangmere and I’m planning a return journey to it as I was there on another mission at the time.

I was just wondering as his watch and bits and pieces were found but no sign of the body itself?

Thanks in advance.

Spencer
