Many thanks Dave 🙂

We were on the beach just off the end of the runway at leuchars yesterday.

When the rwy threshold had been resurfaced fairly recently they had dumped the old concrete onto the beach to add to sea defences and WW2 Invasion Obstacles.

My OH (Hawkeye) spotted a huge concrete lump with an imprint of a tyre in the underside of it,I realised it was an aircraft tyre and we were impressed that obviously there was a thin layer of tyre rubber stuck to the concrete which gave a mirror image of the tyre part number etc.

Obviously they had not been too choosy with prep work and hardcore composition when the concrete had been poured 🙂

This is how we saw it with the thin rubber layer embedded in the underside of the old concrete.

This is the image ‘flipped’ so that the numbers etc are easy to read.
