🙂

I hate database compatibility stuff. I have a situation like that at work with an older database running on a newer computer. But at least you have hope in that someone else is using the same operating system as you are so all is not lost.

Contact the software vendor (the training software) directly. I am sure they have seen this problem before and know what a quick fix is. Rather then hunt and peck for an answer by digging through config files and such.

They may ask you to do the following (which you may already know how to do…)

I have WinXP pro so this may or may not help….. In WinXP Go to “Start” / “Control Panel” / “Administrative Tools” / “Data Sources – ODBC Tools” hit that a dialog box will appear that has a bunch of “tabs” at the top to choose from. Select “Drivers” and look at this list. Make sure it matchs what is on your friends system upon which this software you want to use works. (version number and date of driver) This is a start. I will look in my XP reference book and see if I can find anything. If I can’t, Frank will answer ALL your computer questions 🙂 There are some other pretty saavy computer types who lurk on this board that are better at database stuff than I am.
