RE: Concorde sibling
Concorde will need to be modified and re-certified if it is to fly again, and this will cost the two operating airlines millions. I personally think that the aircraft will not enter passenger service again, which is a terrible shame.
Lets face it though, even if the Paris crash didn’t happen the aircraft was living on borrowed time. In this day and age, communities around airports are very sensitive about aircraft noise and if an airliner is not chapter III compliant, it has a bleak future. If you have been on the deck at LHR and heard Concorde take off, you will know what I mean.
As for a possible replacement for Concorde, I wouldn’t rule it out, but I doubt if we’ll see one for a very long time.
