RE: going through merger

Mergers are good for airlines, to get more incomes. For the people I am not so sure. In the nineties we had a vibrant market here in Spain with many new comers. Now it happens as in the US, only the big ones, the small have collapsed and they have fix the fares (secret pact, investigated by the competence commitee). Air Europa tried to merger Iberia. It would be terrible because many regional flights would be in danger, since Iberia wanted to place most Air Europa planes in MAD hub to increase the profitable routes. So I don´t like mergers.
