RE: The meaning of D-Day.

I do know that it was Operation Overlord but was just speaking generally about D-Day and what that meant and in this case D-Day was the actual day that Overlord was to begin. Hence D-Day is the code word for the Day overlord happened or was to happen and Overlord was the operation.

Does this make sense to anyone???
