Navy Wings Sea Fury receives new engine

At Royal Naval Air Station Yeovilton, the Navy Wings Heritage Flight is working to return Hawker Sea Fury FB11 VR930/G-CLNJ to flight with a new engine, after deciding on a change of powerplant earlier this year.

Another ‘Dak’ for Tim Savage

Ocala, Florida-based warbird operator Tim Savage — whose ‘Western Airlines’ Douglas DC-3 NC33644 was flown to Europe as part of the D-Day Squadron during the spring — has announced the acquisition of C-47A 43-15935/N33VW from Hangar 360 Aircraft Services at Bolton, Mississippi.

Weather hits Goodwood’s Freddie March

Top award at the 18th annual Freddie March Spirit of Aviation concours d’elegance for pre-1966 aircraft at the weather-beaten Goodwood Revival from 6-8 September went to John Romain for the Aircraft Restoration Company’s Westland Lysander IIIa V9312/G-CCOM, the only airworthy British-built Lysander in the world.
