Over last weekend of the 1st and 2nd of March Australia celebrated 100 years of Military Aviation in Australia. The celebration commemorates the occasion of the first military flight in Australia which took place at Point Cook on 1 March 1914. And having been there to witness the recreation of the fist flight in a replica Bristol Boxkite was something very humbling. I actually had to stop taking photos to witness what was happening in front of me.

That Meteor, Mustang, Sabre formation is amazing! The Boxkite recreation sounds like quite a moment too. Thanks for posting 🙂

Thanks for sharing! The Boxkite’s two flights (Commemoration on Sat, public flight on Sun) were all that we could’ve hoped for after seven year’s work by the Project 2014 team, RAAF Museum et al who made it happen.
