100 Years of Powered Flight

Why am I not surprised that none of the main TV channels in the UK have a programme on Wednesday to mark the anniversary?

The BBC are going to be at Old Buck, probably just the local news covering the anniversary and people who fly in for that.

bbc4

shame that the mainstream channels are ignoring the anniversary on the day. But BBC4 are doing a ‘Flight night’ from about 20:30. mostly repeats.

🙁

Naah!!!

Discovery Wings are showing loads of programmes, as are the History channel and some of the other satalite channels.

As for the Beeb and ITV, well it just aint sexy enough because:

No one gets voted out,

Simon Cowell can’t judge it,

theres no scandal,

no opportunity for us to text our votes,

where could they put hidden cameras.

To be honest im glad the Beeb and ITV arn’t bothering. There programming sucks and i hate paying license fees!

Can you imagine, they would probably do a 100 years of flight ‘Big Brother’ special, locking a load of idiots inside a plane for six weeks…

God i hate telly!

The episode of Scrapheap Challenge where three teams had to build an aeroplane using early 1900s materials was repeated tonight. Also I saw a snippet of Blue Peter the other day that was reprting on the anniversary from Duxford, so it is getting some coverage.
There really should be something on the 17th though.
