Info from a source close to the EADS Historic Flight, as reported in Flugzeugforum.de:

Both landing gear legs were down and locked and indicated as such, but one of them folded on the rollout due to an unnamed u/c component (not the same one as in “Red 7”) failure. All damage is repairable, but it won’t fly again this year and will return to Manching on a lorry.

OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!! Please please don’t do that again!! My heart almost beat it’s way out of my chest!!! Oh to see this sight (along with a Fw-190 and ALL featuring Swastika’s) sweeping over Duxfords Air Spave having taken off secretly from Cambridge would be heaven or heart attack inducing!!!!! WOW, truly fantastic imagery and thank you so much for posting them! Thank fully there’s no tax on exclamation marks……..

But at least just before it happened there was a chance for this to happen…..we need a ‘drool’ smiley…..:D:D

EADS don’t seem to be having much luck with their 109’s recently, hope they have some good luck now as they deserve it.

looks like there is even less damage than red 7, so all things going well we may see it back where she belongs before long.
