I wasn’t aware that there were hot-air balloons with that kind of capacity.

It was Cameron A-210 ZK-XXF of Early Morning Balloons Ltd., Waipukerau.
This saw previous service with Gone With The Wind Ltd., Bristol as G-BXXF 1998 – 2001

A sight-seeing balloon went down in fire Saturday. The pilot and five couples all passed away. The catastrophe happened on New Zealand’s North Island. Source of article: New Zealand balloon disaster kills eleven

This is a very sad story. A happy moments turned into tragic. We never know what will happen next in our lives. 🙁

One of the biigest balloons in the world is the Cameron A-315 which can carry 16 plus passengers. Very sad news. 🙁
