1:1 scale Spitfire replicas/gate-guards

I’ve just been contacted by a man from the BBC, looking to find out if it is possible to obtain a full-scale fibreglass replica Spitfire “kit”, which will be built up during the course of a TV programme presented by James May. This is part of a new series “James May’s Toy Stories”, where he will attempt to enthuse today’s children by building a full-scale model!

I’ve already dropped a PM to Graham Adlam on this forum, but if anyone else knows of any possible sources, please let me know. As this is for TV, they would like some information… yesterday?!

Also, they were hoping to have a WW2 Spitfire pilot on the programme. If anyone can help in that department, I’m sure they’d be grateful.

You can’t do any better than speaking to Spitfireman (Baz) on here.
