Any thoughts on where you can fly 146/ARJ types in the U.K./Europe these days? I’m sure they are rare, but just curious as I saw one today (Swiss Global Air Lines I think…it was painted in Star Alliance livery). I’ve always had a fascination with the 146 family, and I was excited to see the Special that Key put out for it. I haven’t had a chance to read it yet, but I look forward to doing so in the near future.

Took a Brussels RJ a couple of months back, looking very dated internally, and the small overhead bins under the wing section are beyond a joke now everyone relies on carry on baggage.

As stated LCY is one of the last remaining hubs to fly in a Avro 146. The added attraction is the landing over the city is quite unique. You should be able to get day return flights or overnighters. Be quick as a lot of the airlines are and also steadily going to change to the new generation jets which obviously provide better economics. The 146 days will be numbered!

Never flown from LCY….might have to give it a shot on my next weekend trip! Would be a nice bonus to get on an Avro RJ/146 just to say I’ve done it.
Such a pleasant airplane!

There are a few locally based and used for fire fighting. With the coming of summer and the fire season I expect to see them flying, either for training or transiting to a fire.

Brussels airlines fly a network with RJs out of Brussels and City Jet fly LCY to Dublin and Dublin – Paris for Air France.
