605 squadron, Croydon

Hurricane P3107, F/O R Hope killed, inadvertantly flew into the Inner Artillery Zone during routine patrol and believed collided with balloon cable, but possible victim of AA defences, crashed in Tennison Road, South Norwood, 12.50 hrs.
