152 Sqd.

Black Panther,

A very impressive website.

Here is a shot of Spitfire XVIII TP298 flying over Denver Colorado in January 1994.

Craig Charleston had rebuilt this machine, initially in the UK but completed in the US. It is one of a batch recovered from India in the 1970’s.

Unfortunately it was flown into a mountain in Montana just a few months later en-route to its first ‘out of town’ airshow.

I had organised and produced the 152 Sqd. paint scheme details and the artwork for the Panther. At that time we knew no better and painted the Panther on both sides.

With the demise of the TP298 and the lack of photographic exposure of the scheme in the media, the BBMF utilised the artwork for the repaint of PS915.

You are more than welcome to include these shots on your website if you so wish.

Mark
