16 New Movie Clips from Prestwick

If anyone would like a look I’ve just uploaded a new collection of 16 Movie Clips all from Prestwick, various Freighters from Polar Cargo, Atlas Air, Evergreen International plus a couple of the BWIA A340 that was operating until the route was suspended due to maintenance on one of their A340’s.

My favourite from this lot was a Shovkoviy Antonov 12 and I’ve added a couple of Clips, in the first one it bombs along at fine speed taxiing out to Runway 31 and the other is of it depositing four columns of smoke over the Countryside. You just can’t beat them.

Got sterio sound too and they are not as wind effected due to my “Gustbuster” (Ren’s advice). Added 44 new photos as well

Fred. (off for a rest, phew)

Yes the BWIA is supposed to come back again to Prestwick on the 3rd week of June, we will see. Apparently 9Y-JIL is having a “C” check.

EUJet did it’s last flight from Glasgow on the 15th of February before suspending the route and word was it would come back in June but I haven’t seen any mention of it so far, has anyone else heard owt?

EK, Glasgow is more difficult for Movie Clips but there are a few places I could get them. Problem is I don’t like following something down and then stopping it right at the moment of touchdown because the fence is in the way.

The spot I fancy Camcordering from is takeoff’s from 05 at Glasgow in the evening at the bottom of Yonderton Road to get liftoff’s so will try that at some point.

I was at Finkenwerder in April and it was very quiet but I got a few nice Camcorder sequences of Beluga’s landing and departing, I’ll add those next time they turned out quite good. It’s so odd looking to look at when it moves.

You really need to get airside at GLA and indeed any airport for video work. Shooting through a fence is not an option at standard video shutter speeds. An alternative of course is to provide your own raised platform, but as we all know airport security aren’t awfully keen on that kind of activity.

I used to shoot GLA video from the old M8 footbridge at the St James junction, before it got redeveloped, unfortunately that’s gone and the nearest raised vantage point now, is the miles away high rises at Millarston or Linwood.
