Seeing as there is another great post going on about 1:400 models I thought I’d start one on 1:600 models. They aren’t as good quality as the 1:400, but they are quite cheap and still fun to collect.
I’ve just got back from Germany (I’ll post the pictures in the next few days) and I’ve drastically expanded my 1:600 collection.
Before I went I had:
BA 757-200 (Poland Tail)
Deutsche BA 737-300 (World Tail….can’t remember which)
Lufthansa 737-300
CSA 737-400
Lufthansa Vikkers Viscount
However at Munich Airport they had a huge collection available and I ended up spending far too much:
Virgin Atlantic 747-400
bmi A330
Emirates 777-300
United 767-300
Thomas Cook (powered by Condor) 767-300
BA Concorde
easyJet 737-700
Go Fly (go now) 737-300
Eurowings CRJ200.
Does anyone else collect 1:600s? They have a great web site at http://www.schabak.de.

It should have been more like this…

The last build model I made was a 1/72 scale Boing B-17. I took ages making it looking good, painting up loads of fiddly interior bits to make it look more professional. I was dead proud of it once I’d finished it and decided to hang it from the ceiling (for old times sake).
After five minutes it fell off and is now in a million pieces in a plastic bag. It was the most detailed crash site I’ve ever made ! 😀 The only kit model I have now is this Lufthansa DC-3, 1/48th scale. It used to be in KLM colours when I first built it around 8 years ago.
Purists will note the badly positioned tail decals and paint detal. It was before I had web access and didn’t have a livery plan to refer to.

Last one I built was my Austrian Airlines A321, in the special faces c/s. I got around to painting the wings but thats it. Then a few weeks after I did this It broke. So I ended up throwing it away.
Coanda I have seen that A380 model, its quite a biggun! I wouldn’t mind having a go at that one. 🙂

I still build!
I have revells a380-800 to build soon, unusual as I usually only do mil stuff
cant get along with these diecast aircraft, nowhere near as good (in my honest opinion) as they could be.

These die-cast and ready made plastic models are all very nice, but, does anyone still build? I’ve just started work on a Virgin Boeing 747-200, the scale being 1/125. It’s going to be pretty big. I’ll post photos of it when complete. There’s probably another 6 to 8 hours solid just filling and sanding before I get to thinking about spraying.

I only have one Schabak model, though its not a 1:600 scale. Its a 1/250 scale model of the AF concorde, in the pepsi titles.
