1936 HP Heyford Crash, nr Petersfield

This film clip from 1936 shows a crashed RAF bomber, near Petersfield, that appears to me to be Heyford. http://www.criticalpast.com/video/65675053127_wreckage-of-planes_Royal-Air-Force_winter-night-maneuvers_crashing
The reported states that it came down during the first night manouvers of the winter with three crew being killed and the pilot, a Sargeant Deacon, being injured. The identity of the aircraft involved is not possible from the images as all the fabric has been burned off.
I know of the 102 Sqn disaster in December 1936 when several Heyfords were lost due to icing, was this one of them and where did it come down exactly.

Paul, just been sent a photo of the Heyford K4034 in the Channel and placed a page on our website if you would like to take a look?

Thank you Paul, that is obviously the aircraft concerned.
Number 10 Squadron were based at Boscombe Down at the time.
The question I now have is where exactly was the crash site, the film gives some clues as it appears to show the crash point on one hill with another hill visible in the distance. A bit more research needed here I think.

All I have reference to is ‘struck high ground between Petersfield and Midhurst and “hill near Telegraph House, the home of Lord Russell”

Lord Russell = Bertrand Russell

http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-301710-telegraph-house-elsted-and-treyford-west

“it was the home of the famous Beacon Hill School run by Bertrand Russell, later Lord Russell, and Dora Black”

I’m pretty sure this was just into West Sussex, somewhere north of Chichester – but I forget the location and details. Filed away I do have two period photographs of the crash, but I seem to think I used them in my book “RAF Tangmere in Old Photographs” many moons ago. I don’t have a copy, so cannot refer to it but the details would be in the caption.

I live in Petersfield and have locations for most of the wartime crashes.
This one is not recorded in the Hampshire crash records for 1936, but the commentry was pretty definate.
The background is familiar, but we are surrounded by the South Downs, so lots of choice.
Any further details might help.
