1939 Triumph Twelve

My late father owned one of these cars back in the late fifties in fact it was his first car! this was an interim model prior to the release of the Gloria and very few were built,it had an aluminium body i beleive, the floor was wood boards that could be removed to access the rear axle etc it had lucas king of the road headlamps mounted on plinths atop the front wings,,engine was alloy as well (if i remember,) it had rear lamps on the number plate only so dad bought a rear lamp conversion kit and fitted these on the rear wings as the law demanded it at the time.interior was leather ,individual front seats and copious rear one, complete with a fabric blind for rear window operated by a chord hidden in the headlining on drivers side, wheels had full sized covers (very smooth) anyone own one out there registration number was DAK 902. 😎 😎 (oh and it was black)

This would presumably be the Triumph 12 only made in the years 1939-40 and had a 1496cc 4 cylinder engine, not to be confused with the Triumph 12/50 Herald, 1963-67. Sadly your car is no more as confirmed by DVLC.
