1940 Hurricane piston??

On Flea Bay, item number 151144650298. Is this correct?. It seems to me a “Short skirt” piston, which I “Believe?” didn’t go into production until after 1942/3. But is listed as Battle of Britain.
Anyone any idea please.

Yup, But at least it will give one the chance to get over the expense of Christmas first, Your children, grandchildren, etc, the list seems endless, Far too much money spent, quite possibly on things that will never be used. God help anyone who buys me socks this year……:D

It doesn’t work, Linc – just like the pointless proposed energy price freeze it and all your bills will catch up with you eventually and be much worse when they do!!:(

No, that is definitely an early Merlin piston with the longer skirt. From what I can see from the single photograph on the listing it looks absolutely right to me. I cannot comment on its provenance.

Hi Warren, I sort of had a “GUT” feeling that you would be the one to answer that, as we both collect pistons etc, Knowing that, I now relise I have a brand new one, with an unbent con rod, and I managed to get a full set of NEW rings from the USA. Many thanks.
P.S. Cleared your shed out yet?.:)

Linc, this might be seen more by those who can help you in Historic rather than GD…..:)

Chas. As soon as I had posted it, I realised it should have been on hysterical, but as it will only get very few, from the likes of Andy, I didn’t bother.Mods will change it if they think fit.
