Somebody on a local press site is researching this incident for the nav’s widow.
Anybody have anything to contribute please? Particularly a location for the crash site.
The following from bomber command losses of 1944.
Mosquito IV DZ521 AZ-M of 627 Sqdn. 26-27 Sept 1944. op, karlsruhe
Take off, 0229 Woodhall Spa, crashed 0253 near Kings Lynn Norfolk, F/o Matheson was taken to Coningsby Cemetery, while his navigator ( F/O A T Fitzpatrick DFM RAAF) DFM had been gazetted on 15th October 1943 for service with 460 sqdn, is buried in Cambridge city cemetery, He had married Margaret Frances Fitzpatrick of Dulwich.

I have the likely location down as Tilney All Saints, the son of the Navigators widow was in touch about this a couple of years ago.
