I’ve just got one and it does seem to work well, very simple in fact, so maybe this is the way to go

I’ve had some good results with Tamiya’s weathering kits – worth a try. Got some pics of my Tiger I at home I can post if you’re interested.

one thing that bugs me is I used a very thin coat of Tamiya smoke to replicate the typical exhaust stain that 190s have but the matt varnish has made it almost invisible, so plan 2, don’t what that is yet, maybe a thin coat of dark brown mixed with black, I know that German fuel was very sooty,

it’s all a learning curve for me, all ideas gratefully received

I too would be pleased with that ..nice work , its a cracking model you’ve made…..

one coat of matt varnish and a dirty wash, still a bit more weathering to do but I’m not too unhappy with it

Don’t want to sound a smartarse but try whitetack next time(it does not leave any residue) The 190 is beginning to look really good. I am waiting to see the finished article.:)

sorry, should have been more precise it was white tack, I read about blue tack

I reckon it’ll be 40 years by the time I have time to get back into it. Will be happy if my first attempt looks like that!
