dark light

1st attempt in 40 years

been taken some time, I’m just putting the decals on then I’ll give it a Flory wash and a bit of weathering and the flat finish,

I’m not too unhappy with it, I’ve had to learn how to airbrush and used all sorts of things I’d never heard of, who would have thought you used blue tack to mask it,

it’s a Tamiya 190 A3 with Eagle Eastern Front decals

thanks
I’ve just got one and it does seem to work well, very simple in fact, so maybe this is the way to go

love to see your tiger

I’ve had some good results with Tamiya’s weathering kits – worth a try. Got some pics of my Tiger I at home I can post if you’re interested.

thanks guys
one thing that bugs me is I used a very thin coat of Tamiya smoke to replicate the typical exhaust stain that 190s have but the matt varnish has made it almost invisible, so plan 2, don’t what that is yet, maybe a thin coat of dark brown mixed with black, I know that German fuel was very sooty,

it’s all a learning curve for me, all ideas gratefully received

one coat of matt varnish and a dirty wash, still a bit more weathering to do but I’m not too unhappy with it

Very nice Butcherbird! 😀

I do believe it deserves a wider audience… 😉

Don’t want to sound a smartarse but try whitetack next time(it does not leave any residue) The 190 is beginning to look really good. I am waiting to see the finished article.:)

sorry, should have been more precise it was white tack, I read about blue tack

Looks like a great model, but you need to work on your photography 😀

I reckon it’ll be 40 years by the time I have time to get back into it. Will be happy if my first attempt looks like that!
