Yeha too right, im sure the airport and Airbus would make an announcement if the A380 was to come!

Even so its a mighty impressive machine!

Obviously take that with a pinch of salt!

Only a pinch of salt? Speaking for myself I’d take an entire Saxa delivery van with this one, mate! :D:D:D

Was on the roof of SQ head office in London and saw the A380 come in, very impressive cant wait to see it grace our skies.

I know its not strictly to do with this thread but people on airliners are saying the A380 is rumoured to visit Manchester this saturday for runway and taxiway trials. Obviously take that with a pinch of salt! 🙂

Oh no i have to work ..Is this likely to happen think i might have to throw a sicky and visit manchester just in case 😀

Does anyone know the time of day that A380 enters into service? SQ flies SIN-SYD 3 times a day – which of them would have the EIS flight?

That’s a good question. The SIN departure times in december: 0020, 0940, and 2040. The SYD return flights are: 0830, 1245, and 1655. I’ve been on the 0830 departure and it was pretty packed. On a side note, anybody know what’s going on Oct. 1-7 in either Sydney or Singapore? For that week only, SQ is operating 4 dailies on the aforementioned route.

I heard a while back SQ would fly it to LHR then fly to SIN.

No, they won’t introduce it onto the LHR route until they fly it on the SYD route. Something along the lines of crew numbers. They only need a single crew for the 7 hour SYD flight as opposed to two crews for the 13 hour LHR flight.

Yeah, thanks for that Steve. They have a thread going on A.net at the moment. I wouldn’t mind taking that flight when I fly down to Australia for Christmas. 😉

Do we have a roundabout date for when SQ will do the honors?

I’ve just read in the Melbourne Herald Sun that the first Singapore airlines revenue service will be Singapore – Sydney in December 2006

Depends when Airbus get their act together an deliver the thing. So far I beleive SQ get their first in September. Though, I stand to be corrected on that.

I would say anywhere between 2 weeks and a month later we will see the first commercial service.
