Good Evening,
Well MetCheck said there was going to be between 2%-5% of cloud at Manchester (MAN/EGCC) this morning, so I decided to go for a day of photography. When I set off there was perfect blue skies, but as soon as I hit the Yorkshire/Lancashire border the clouds started to roll in.
Here are the shots, resized for loading time. If you wish to see any of the photos at 1024×683 either send me an email, or wait till they appear on JetPhotos (touchwood).

Very nice indeed Sam, the best of the bunch for me are the Qatar and Air Canada!

Love the title Sam – Very you!
Some brilliant shots there mate, and considering the weather wasn’t on your side, you have seemed to have done pretty well.
Look forward to seeing them on Jet Photos.

You could always learn to read aviation METARS (actuals) and TAFs (forecasts)
Available here for free and without registration
http://weather.noaa.gov/weather/coded.htmlFor example, presently
Metar: EGCC 271420Z 31014KT 9999 FEW026 SCT039 16/11 Q1026
(reported on the 27th at 14:20 GMT, wind is from 310 degrees, blowing 14 knots, there are few clouds at 2600ft above the airfield, scattered clouds at 3900 feet. Visibility greater than 10km (9999 bit). Temp is +16 deg C, dewpoint is +11 deg C. Pressure is 1026mb)TAF: EGCC 271157Z 271322 32010KT 9999 FEW028 BKN040
(predicted conditions made on 27th at 11:57 GMT for the 27th period 13:00 to 22:00 GMT – wind 320 deg, 10 knots. Visibility greater than 10km. Few clouds at 2800ft, broken clouds at 4000ft.)NB Few = 1-2 eighths, Scattered = 3-4 eighths, broken = 5-7 eights and overcast is literally that (8 eighths).
I can actully decode METARs and TAFs…i’s not hard! 😀
Thanks for the comments Guys!

Metcheck is more unreliable than the BBC. Once I checked it at home, when it was tipping it down outside, when Metcheck said that on that day we’d have 0.0mm of rain! My A**S big time lol!
Superb pics too lol! Especially of the bmi A330, which I will be on to Chicago on Thurday 😀

2% Cloud – My **** (EGCC)
Lol. Reminds me of a statement from the movie Armeggeddon:
Well, our object collision budget allows us to track about 3% of the sky, and begging your pardon, but that’s a big-ass sky!
Dont know why…:D:p
Nice shots by the way, keep up the good work, shame about the cloud!:D:diablo:

Well, you got a wee bit of sun anyway. Sod’s law when you set out on a mission eh ? A shot of the full Qatar would have been nice with that dark sky behind. Sunny subject and dark sky is the biz. Next time you need to bung the met man a bottle of whisky for full sun. 2 – 5% Ha! What do they take us for ?

I like the BMI A330 shot, it looks like a killer whale from front on…;)
