2 Junkers ju52 at Goodwood in 2006

Just a short one

Ywo Junkers over Shoreham on route to Goodwood this
afternoon.

Aparently they are departing in the Morning to Farnborough for Pleasure flights.

If anybody knows any times, I would be very grateful.

Anyone else see a Ju 52 flying over Hendon (RAF museum fly past?) early this evening? I thought it was a Dakota from its sound and shape, until I put my glasses on and saw the third engine.

I am not aware of anything else that looks similar with 3 engines, so I think it must have been a Ju52.

JU 52

I too witnessed the spectacle ! Viewed from Worthing the first flyover was dead overhead and east bound just before 1300 – I guessed it was heading to Shoreham but it didn’t appear on their webcam and it then came back east bound about 1315 tracking a little to the north following the railway. It was clearly in Swiss markings. There was not enough time to land at Shoreham. It came back again going east about 1545 and I didn’t see or hear it go back west so presumed it had gone on to Lydd or somewhere that way – couldn’t have gone too far as it got dark within the hour. Altitude was around 1000′ feet so as to keep below the low overcast we had all week.

Seemed rather a murky day to be out in such a priceless machine.

Any one have an id for this bird ?

Taz and SM845 left Duxford this afternoon and are due back on Friday. TD248 went from Duxford this morning via Lydd.

??????????????????

Anyone know what the state of play is with this? Are they still at Goodwood? and if they are is there anywhere to get a good photo of them? I might pop down tomorrow for a look if they are!

Cheers Matt
