2 new models for me!

Hi,

Just to show you my latest batch of models which arrived this morning, after being order on Friday. Not at all bad delivery time considering these both came from New York! 😀

I paid about £35 for the pair, one is 1/400 and the other 1/500 and that included postage and packing. Brilliant value, I’m sure you’ll agree.

And with only 2 weeks and 2 days to go now, a more than appropriate selection of models!

Still not as many as the pushfit companies make, and they are twice as cheap too 😉

I’ve never seen a detailed 1:200 model as good as the 1:400 ones, except the ones that cost about £200.
Having said that I collect the 1:200 models, purely because there is at the moment a bit more variety in the airline that I collect (BA)

Kev nice work! 😀

I would say that 1/400 are more detailed than the 1/200 range, easily! One the 1/400’s i have theres no step markings on the wing and emergency exits are marked on them etc, this you dont seem to get on the 1/200’s.

Depends where you get them from.

The windows are indeed transparent. Think it looks better than painted on for a model of this size. It’s the Revell 1/144 scale 738. Not bad for a first attempt. About to start work on a Swiss A320 next. Does anyone know whether any company does after market decals for A320’s for My Travel or My Travel lite?

Yes Kevin, Go and visit http://www.hannants.co.uk model shop and search for decals. They have a fantastic range of just about everything up there from kits/decals/paints etc….

Wasn’t that exactly what I said on saturday to you?

I prefer 1:200 too. So much better.

Gemini Jets are 1/400 and very detailed as you’ve seen from my photos. They’ve recently launched a 1/250 scale range which is excellent. They have retracting undercarriage and rubber wheels that work etc. www.geminijets.com

Great models Mike, I can’t help wondering if BA would have something to say about the tail design on the first one. Very similar don’t you think ?

I do apologise for the less than impressive quality of the images!

This is the Thai 747-400. My aim is to collect one of each aircraft currently in service with the fleet. I’ve got 1/400 scale models of the 777-300, 747-300 and now this. I’ll get myself an A330-300, 777-200 and A300 sometime soon. I don’t suppose if anyone knows whether or not there is such a model as a Thai 737-400? I’ve seen the classic, and supposedly rare, 737-200, but that’s expensive and not something I can really afford right now!
