In ‘Aeroplane’ there is a feature on Hawker Restorations plans to move to a new airfield location. They also have plans to build a 2 seat Hurricane based on a Battle of Britain aircraft. It will either be sold to or operated in conjuction with a commercial operator. So one day punters really will be able ‘to fly in the aircraft that won the Battle of Britain.’ đŸ™‚

Wow, a 2 seat Hurricane finally.
Boy I’d love to go for a fly in it! Hopefully it will look a lot like the other 2 seat modifications where the 2nd seat version looks like the single seat version.
Mind you, there’s lots of historical precedence for making it the same as either the Russian etc. ones…

I’ve spoken to a couple of guys who fly the Vintage Wings of Canada Hurricane.
They figured the aeroplane got it’s name from flying with the lid open. “It’s like being in a Hurricane!” :eagerness:

Think you get more of a back draught that way…. đŸ˜€

Awww, I hoped it would have the Ruski style open cockpits – wind in your hair, flies in your eyes aviation sensations….
You can always fly with the canopy open!

Very interesting. I suppose it must have had dual controls, as otherwise why do it ?
I just found this thread: http://forum.keypublishing.com/showthread.php?108288-Arab-Hurricane-Two-Seater

That’s a job title I never thought I’d hear – rear gunner in a Hurricane!
