Lets see, I got 437 pics on my 1GB microdrive at Chailey today. With a 2TB I could do 574,000,000 pics. Cool, I should at least get a couple of decent shots out of that. I would need trolley acc to power the camera through that lot though 😮

I wonder what’s the objective. Maybe for supercomputers?
However none of Bill Gate’s common OS is able to handle 2TB since their are only using 32 bits.

Then when will we see computer hard drives with such sizes? Bit meaningless to have that much portable memory when you can’t place it on your computer.

This seems very unlikely, just to get one terrabyte on your computer you’d have to link up 4 X 250GB hard draives using RAID. its only ever been done once in a HUGE silver box, and it kept having alot of errors.
And the fact that the memory card is 3X2cm just makes the whole thing even more unlikely. But all the sources seem genuine, so it could be true.
1000GB = 1TB

To put it into perspective (most humans have trouble understanding 1,000 let alone 1 trillion) if we change the units to seconds then 1 second is already well known to most people… 1 Kilo second is a little over 16 minutes. 1 Mega second is just over 11 Days worth of seconds and 1 Giga Second is about 31 Years. 1 Tera second is just over 31,000 years worth of seconds!!!

Mixtec, if it’s on The Register then you can rely on the info.

It’s unclear if it’s 2Tbits or 2TBytes. I suspect 2 TBytes though !!!!
However that’s great but it may be a bit expensive yet.
