According to the BBC website – ‘more soon’
Doesn’t sound too good 🙁

Yes to be that thorough you cannot rush it. Considering their role I am pleased the AAIB are that thorough.

Final report released, the details prove why it takes over two years to produce a report.

Allow me to speculate a little (don’t shoot, don’t shoot!), but the third from last paragraph, is very interesting, almost disturbing.
Unless its pretty easy for the AAIB to identify the probably causes of the crash, perhaps they’ll make a recommendation along the lines of – fit all aircraft with the purpose of carrying those other than the flight crew/with more than x seats/over xkg MTOW with flight data recorders.
I wonder how much harder it will be for the AAIB to identify the causes – if something was going wrong in the engines (if the transcripts are anything to go by) and there is no ‘computer’ performance data on exactly how the aircraft was performing – it may be harder to discount causes? The fact that little of the aircraft remains, civilians were at risk, and such loss of life, surely must be a reason enough to suggest fitting flight data recorders.

Little to learn from the prelim. report apart from discounting any bird strike theories. Demonstrates the unreliabilty of general public witnesses.

That’s just unfounded idle speculation, we can all take this story and add anything we like to make up rubbish. Personally I’d wait until a press release.

“Perverting the course of Justice”… sounds to me like he looted something… either from the contents of the house, or the aircraft… which would bear on ongoing investigations.
Or perhaps was hiding/altering records of the aircraft or pilot.
Note they specifically stated “not related to the cause of the crash”, though.

This development was reported on the BBC local news last evening, but no more detail was given then either.

The names of the victims have now been released
Very sad indeed.
One of the pilots involved, Mike Chapman, was a much-liked and respected member of the Shoreham Airport community, who had many hundreds of flying hours gained with a number of local flying clubs and used to fly Andrew Edie’s Harvard regularly.
He was also one of the co-founders/directors of the Real Flying Company, operators of a Stampe and Chipmunk amongst others.
RIP and condolences to all those left bereaved by this tragedy.

Wonder if it was a multiple bird strike after take -off ? and Biggin Hill may have to review their Departure routes to take departing aircraft over more open country due to the large urban areas now in the area.

The Sky ‘Anchorman’ told viewers that they had got information on pilots from ‘Wikepedia’
And if anyone still wonders why Virgin Media chucked Sky News off their cable network, then speak up now…

its a sad day following this event.
Heart goes out to all familes and friends involved,
Former British Touring Car racer David Leslie and sportscar team boss Richard Lloyd were among five people killed in a plane crash in Kent this afternoon, according to sources close to Autosport.
Their private Cessna Citation 501 aircraft was headed for the south of France where Leslie was due to drive Lloyd’s Apex Motorsport Jaguar XKR in an FIA GT3 equalisation test at Nogaro tomorrow.
The pilot made a mayday call to Biggin Hill Airfield, near Farnborough, reporting severe engine vibrations, but the plane crashed into the corner of a housing estate seconds later. The plane’s two pilots and three passengers were killed, but nobody on the ground was injured.

Yes I noted that reaction too, A BBC News 24 presenter pointed out the fact that Biggin Hill had indeed been there for rarther longer than the housing estate and inferred the estate may not have been there at all were it not for the heroic actions of a certain band of aviators based there some 60 odd years ago… (nice one !) Hopefully by now Sky are no longer talking about a Cessna Learjet crash ??? I’d have thought they might have ‘clued’ themselves up a bit after their story on the Heathrow ‘Airbus 777’ incident in January ?
Sadly, hysterical journalism is one of the many scourges on modern society and may I pass on my condolences to those lost in today’s accident.

Very sad indeed and so easily could have been worse.:(
Names are starting to be ‘announced’ by Sky
David Leslie BTCC driver, Richard Lloyd also worked in Motorsport.
Sky News sadly proding to get comment on ‘Safety’ of airport so near to residential area 😡 ‘Journalist’ and I use that phrase loosly said
“Biggin Hill has been here for 100 years and I am told played a part in both world wars”……..
