2013 Abingdon Air & Country Show..5th May 2013

Evening guys

with a little under 3 months to go here is the latest up-date for the
2013 Abingdon Air & Country Show on May 5th and I’m sure you’ll agree
it’s shaping up to be another “stonker” both for us aviation
enthusiasts and the non-aviation enthusiast visitor{in other
words,don’t forget to bring the family/friends with you 😉 }………

Flying Displays
DC3 Dakota – (World War Two transport) – (Andrew Dixon)
P51 Mustang – (World War Two fighter) – (Peter Teichman)
Gnat – (1950s ex Red Arrow jet) – (Kev Whyman)
RV8tors display team (2x RV8), – (Alister Kay, Andy Hill)
Bulldog – (1970s ex RAF trainer) – (Rod Dean)
Silence Twister solo – (Will Hilton, his first public display)
Breitling Wingwalkers x2 (girls on the wing – Boeing Stearmans)
North American T28 Fennec (1950s fighter) – (Martin Willing).
Belgian Air Force Sea King helicopter (Search & Rescue demonstration) –
To be confirmed – (subject to operational commitments)

**Some of these types will also be on the ground for static viewing**
** Royal Air Force display aircraft are awaiting 100% confirmation **

parade around the ring).

English School of Falconry static display (from Owls to the Bald Eagle!)

Portsmouth Model Boat Display Team (selection of static model boats)
US / British Army / Homeguard Soldier Re-Enactors
Spitfire to sit in the cockpit (Spit4hire)
Skyangels International Rescue attending with a King Air aircraft (or
similar type) kitted out as a hospital, & / or an Air Ambulance

Trade Stalls containing various items to view / purchase

Static Aircraft Military:
RAF Merlin or RAF Puma TBC (RAF Benson)
Thames Valley & Chiltern Air Ambulance EC-135 Helicopter
RAF based 612 VGS Vigilant Motorglider(s)
US Army UH60 Blackhawk (helicopter)
Royal Netherland Air Force & Polish Navy have been re-invited to send
something for static display (awaiting confirmation during March from
the Netherlands & Polish Navy are very much to be confirmed at this
stage).

Static Aircraft Civilian:
45+ general aviation ‘Fly In’ types in attendance, including Chipmunk,
Bulldog, C172, Auster + SNJ-7 Harvard (Naval colours), Messerschmitt
ME108 Taifun, Bucker Bestmann.

Kids Amusements include
Harrisons Amusements (1950s Vintage chair o plane ride, Childrens
roundabout, Plate smashing stall, Candy Floss / Sweet stall and a
vintage Waltzer), Mini Quad bikes and Slide, and a Mobile Inflatable
Playground with slide, Landzorbs, Carousel & Trampolines.

On the day Admission: Adult £15, OAP £10, 5-15yr olds £5, Under 5s Free,
In Advance: Adult £12, OAP £8, 5-15yr olds £4, Under 5s Free.

Advance tickets being purchased online via our website or from the
Wantage Information Centre, Oxford, Wallingford, Didcot and Witney
Tourist Information Centres, ‘The Warehouse’ Abingdon (on Stratton
Way), Abingdon Visitor & Information Centre (near the Guildhall).

Publicity posters and A5-size leaflets are now available if you can use
these to help spread the word

“Following some unwarranted backlash,organiser Neil Porter wishes to express that it is not our fault for the lack of RAF Support this year – it is purely due to unforseen circumstances / certain types not ready or not on the display circuit / A.N Other reasons out of his control.
