NZ warbird restorers Avspecs have recently flown the newly- restored Spitfire LF Mk. XVIe.
This ex gate guardian sat patiently outside for many years awaiting an upturn in its fortunes.
Displayed as gate guard, RAF Odiham, September 12, 1955-1959.
Displayed as gate guard, RAF Acklington, August 1959-1969.
Displayed as gate guard, RAF Boulmer, July 1969.
Displayed as gate guard, RAF Leuchars, December 1969-1986.
Displayed as gate guard, RAF Bentley Priory, April 1986-1988.

The cockpit footage is great, it looks very much as though it’s a 360 degree lens and the footage has then been edited, the end result looking like a standard camera moving in different directions.
Great result for the restoration team, a good bit of news to end 2020 on.

I may of see this at Bentley Priory, I was working in the underground bunker but not sure if 85 or 86
