Hi,
I hope that it is ok to post this here?
Since January I have been building a website commemorating the 20th Fighter Group of the Eighth Air Force that was based at King’s Cliffe between 1943 and 1945. I have managed to upload a large number of images, over an hour of film and am slowly working through getting all the mission and combat reports online as well. It is taking a lot of time, I have over 19,000 pages of documents currently!
Please do take a moment to have a look, I’m sure you will find it interesting!
The website can be found at http://www.20thfightergroup.com
Thanks,
Mike

A worthy project Mike, thank you for taking the time. I have bookmarked the site and will be perusing it more as time permits. I was very close friends for many years with a gentleman by the name of Mike Cole, son of Capt. Charles H. “Tink” Cole. (Although I’m sorry to say I have lost contact with him in recent years.) I had the very distinct pleasure to meet and speak with Capt. Cole in the early to mid 90’s. He was kind enough to share some of his stories including a few about his time flying Meteors with the RAF. Despite a pretty amazing and varied career spent in the air he was quite adamant that he did not have any interest in stepping back into any of those old “warbirds”. With the possible exception, he said, of the PT-17 Stearman, which he was very fond of. At any rate, I will quit rambling now. Thanks again and best wishes for the success of your site.
