Also remembering

6/JG52

Oberfw Albert Friedemann killed, exploded under attack over South London by an RAF fighter, and fell apart over Plumstead, Welling, and Woolwich.

The forward fuselage, starboard wing, and Oberfw Friedemann’s body fell at Wickham Street, Welling, just under two miles from where I live. Albert was first buried at Bexleyheath Cemetery, just the other side of a wall from my old comprehensive school, but was reburied in the early 1960s at Cannock Chase.

Gefr Willi Krohn was also buried at Bexleyheath, having been one of the crew from a Do17 that crashed at Bexley on the 3rd November 1940.
