215 Squadron

A relative of ours (James Wilmore – died 1943 SEAC)was in 215 Squadron but I can find very little out about it. I can’t find an association and I beleive it was disbanded in 1968. Anybody know of other 215’s and where I could get some more info from ?

My father was on 215 Squadron flying Liberators in Burma during the war. I think you’ll find what you’re looking for here:

215sqn

Rather late in the day but I have information concerning James Wilmore. He arrived at Karachi on 31/03/42, having flown Wellington Mk1c BB472 from Egypt. I think he was based with Middle East Wellington 40sqn and he was in a party of 6 crews who were ferrying out to India to form the nucleus of 215sqn at Asansol, India. I presume that you don’t have his logbook.
If you are still interested after all this time, we can speak more
