23 Sqn Blenheim 1 codes – any pictures out there?

We are currently in the late stages of applying the colour scheme to our Bristol Blenheim 1 re-creation which utilises the short nose of L6739. This was a machine that served on 23 Sqn in 1940 as a night fighter. Despite extensive investigation we have only been able to come up with the much published photograph attached, which shows the “YP-” codes in use at the time. We have some evidence of code letters that our machine did not carry, but as yet no individual code for L6739. We are keen to find any images of YP- coded Blenheim 1 aircraft at this period of the war and if anyone has any such pictures please get in touch either here or directly to ARC at Duxford at admin@arc-duxford.co.uk for the attention of Smudge or Col. Unfortunately 23 Sqn disbanded in 2009 and their association seems to be dormant, unless you know better?

Thanks

Roobarb

Uploading pictures on this new system is a nightmare!

Thanks to Ross McNeill on RAFCommands Blenheim L6739 was
YP-Q

On 13th August 1940 YP-Q force-landed Collyweston

Crew were P/O Pattinson and Sgt McAdam (Not Patterson as in The Blenheim A Complete History)

This crew was

P/O Aberconway John Sefton Pattinson #40563

and Sgt William David McAdam #519802

Ross kindly looked up the accident report for me and it stays L6739
