238 Squadron Loss 2/11/1942

I would be interested to know the circumstances under which 1378857 Flight Sergeant William Thomas Allen was killed on the 2nd of November 1942. He was presumably flying one of the Squadron’s Hurricane IIb or IIc’s at the time of his death. He was 24 and from Newcastle-on-Tyne. He is buried at El Alamein War Cemetery.

Any information at all on this man would be appreciated.
