Sorry – no plane – I’m talking about my car’s petrol tank!
Where to go this weekend? Sunday/Monday?
Saaarfend on Sea is the biggie this weekend, but I’m in Plymouth & it’s a long, long way – not that I’ve any aversion to travelling – but if there are any alternatives, I can’t find them. Any ideas? What’s hot and what’s not?

Okay – it’s Southend tomorrow for me.
Anyone else going? Its a long way, and I’d like to leave this evening – but no where to stay.
If anyone living en-route from Plymouth to Southend would like to put me up for the evening – I’ll drive them there and back, in return if they’d care to join me.
I can go m5-m4-m25-etc or m5-a30-a303-m3-m25-etc – or make a reasonable detour.
Its a 5 hour journey so want to leave at about 6pm this evening. Means sleeping in the car – or finding b&b London way, late at night, though if no one to pick up.
ps/ it’s only a 2 seater car – Honda CRX – so sorry, only 1 passenger.

It is actually cheaper to fly to the IoW than drive because the Ferry (if you take your car) is the most expensive form of travel per mile after the NASA Orbiter!
Mmmm dunno, I got the District Line from hammersmith, where we parked the car for £5.50, to Sloane Square to go look in a hole yesterday and two returns over the 6 stations cost £8.60. I told the guy I wanted to buy a ticket not the train.
That is certainly more expensive than Concorde!
Last time we took the car over the Independent free nation state that is the IOW it cost about £30 for the day.

What is a PFA Strut Fly in? – I’m just 60 miles from Truro – what is likely to be there?
I cant find much about the Schneider Trophy races – is there any detail anywhere? Never been to the IOW.

Shobdon has a fly in 29th-30th
Bembridge, Isle of Wight, has the Airbourne Schneider Trophies 29th-30th
Truro has the PFA Devon Strut fly in. 30th
Weston-super-Mare has Helicopter Experience Flights 30th-31st
You should scrounge a flight off someone and come up to Breighton,Yorks. That’s where all the fun will be tomorrow and Monday.

Dunno if classic airliners are your thing RobAnt,or whether Brooklands would be too far to go,but there’s the final taxi-run of the Vickers Vanguard taking place at Brooklands tomorrow.I’d be down there myself if I could make it,but sadly I’m ‘ooop North’ for a few days,so I can’t. 🙁
