any way heres a few i took of the air atlantique 3 ship Dakota flypast and poppy drop was expecting 2 poppy drops but the wind was blowing a gale and well done to air atlantique once again this week .

Correct. There was talk of the organisers asking the BBMF to do it but I guess they were either too busy or the single engine issue raised it head again. Either way, I’m sure 3 Daks was just as impressive 😉
Tom.
Yep the 3 daks went down a storm with the old vets . many im sure flew in them . knowing that there was a strong para airbourne brigade there as there meeting place is in our village of bulkington the white lion pub . a lot of the vets met up there and if your in the area the back room of the pub is a tribute to the paras and walls are full of very nice old pics and daks all over .
Beers a bit pricey thou.

if Spits are on CAA Permits, I think this may have been why?

Bet plenty of local SEP GA traffic transit overhead Bed’uff though. To me, it really sounds like over cautious jobsworth advice from a rep at our dear CAA.

Indeed.
No aircraft on a permit is allowed to overfly built-up areas.

I note using twins overcomes the CAA advice regarding single engine over built-up areas, i.e. the planned Spitfire fly-over.
Not all twins. Our orginal intention was to use the Anson and 2 Daks, but the Anson was not allowed as she’s on a permit to fly.

Min. 1000 feet over built-up areas but you must be able to glide clear.

What are the restictions on light single engined aircraft flying in built up areas , Seem’s unfair for this location its not that built up being on the edge and open countryside along the flightpath.

Thanks to everyone at Atlantique for their efforts in the trying and sporty conditions.

They pulled it off very well indeed and was most welcome from the massive crowds around Bedworth today .

A massive well-done to all at Atlantic.
Not least because the take-off and landings in 20+kt winds must have been ‘challenging’ for the DC3 crews!
