4 Old Boeings @ PIK

Guess the age total in the first pic?
Also, a RYR 737-200 makes a run for it, the 3 behind weren’t so lucky 🙁
It’s now ‘G-FIGP’

Is Global Supply Systems part of Atlas, or something?

Quite a complicated set up. They’re based here at Stansted, and their 3 744F’s are ex-Atlas. However, their flights are ‘operated by British Airways World Cargo’ according to the titles on the fuselage.

I believe it is to be used for the Minardi F1 work as a replacement for G-GPFI which I understand is going to Oz Jet in Australia. Why bother to use an out of sequence registration if it is only to be used for spares.

G-FIGP = Formula One Grand Prix

You beat me to it. 😀

G-FIGP departed Prestwick this afternoon as EAF9723 destination Bournemouth for European Aviation.

Has it made itself a new life, or do you think EAL will be using it for spares?

Who stuck 5 *****’s on this 30 seconds after it was posted

I’d bet its the same person who rates anything with GLA or PIK 5 stars and anything EDI with 1 star. Its been happening often in the past week or so.

It’s always a shame to see these old classics get the chop

flew up to Edinburgh on sat from EMA – bmi baby – but it was a EAL 737-200 !! -nice flight although the cabin had obviously had a ‘white’ respray to make it look newer!!

Ah yes, I might have seen your flight… Same situation happened the previous weekend too! Noisy thing. These days I’ll welcome all the B732s we can get! 😀

Nice pics by-the-way.

Lovely shots, not sure if it’s been mentioned but G-FIGP is now registered with EAL. Hopefully, this means that we could see some more life out of this bird 😀

However, I suppose it could mean that it’s just being taken over for spares, for the rest of EAL’s 732 fleet.

How many 732’s are left down there Kap? Haven’t been down for ages.

5, or bits of, you can see in the 2nd pic and that’s it, unless the one directly behind gets a reprieve then it’s for the chop! 🙁
